Quire and Places Where They Sing
Exploring 19th Century West Gallery Music

The weather behaved beautifully on September 30, with clear, sunny skies and a high around 16 degrees. (It was a little chilly in the church, but that was because we weren't able to figure out the heating system .... !) Judging by the laughter and beautiful singing emanating from the Riverside Church all day long, Willis Noble's presentation on West Gallery music was well received. With Paul Murray acting as accompanist, David Perritt playing flute and NBCF newcomer Helen Westner adding alto recorder, participants experienced the joys of this delightful 19th Century church music. The day concluded with an informal concert at the Reception Centre. (Click on any photograph for a larger version.)
